Qualifiers begin for Georgia State Park Golf Cup

The inaugural Georgia State Park Golf Cup is an interesting concept that will draw attention to the outstanding and diverse courses that can be found throughout the state.

The format for the Georgia State Parks Cup is to host a series of scrambles at each of the state’s eight courses. One or more team from each park will qualify for the season-ending 36-hole tournament at Arrowhead Pointe, earned a spot in the championship weekend at Arrowhead Pointe on May 7-8.

The overall champion will earn a trip to stay and play at the Brasstown Valley Resort.

The first qualifier was conducted at the Wallace Adams Golf Course in Helena. The team of Ty Henley, Evan Parrish, Colby Hook and Brandon Russell shot 23-under 59 to take first place. Each member of the winning team plays out of Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro.

Qualifiers will also be held at Lake Blackshear Golf Course, Brazells Creek Golf Course, The Lakes Golf Course at Laura Walker, The Creek Golf Course at Hard Labor, Meadow Links Golf Course, Highland Walk Golf Course and Arrowhead Pointe.
