Tardy leads five Georgians on Rolex All-American team

Georgia has never been richer in golf talent. Evidence is the inclusion of five Atlanta-area golfers in the American Junior Golf Association’s Rolex Junior All-American team.

The list was headlined by three girls: Bailey Tardy of Norcross High School (first team), Rachel Dai of Cambridge High School (second team) and Rinko Mitsunaga of Roswell and IMG Academy (second team). Two boys were named honorable mention: Chandler Eaton of Alpharetta High School and Will Chandler of Marist.

Tardy, a senior, had three top finishes in AJGA events, including a runner-up performance in the Kathy Whitworth Invitational. Tardy was medalist at the U.S. Junior Girls Championship this summer. This is the second time she’s been named to the Rolex team. She has committed to the University of Georgia.

Dai, a senior, had four top-10 finishes in AJGA competition, including a runner-up finish at the Wells Fargo Junior Classic. She won the Trusted Choice Big I National Championship and was third at the Bubba Conlee. She has committed to the University of Pennsylvania.

Mitsunaga is a three-time Rolex All-American. She tied for third at the Kathy Whitworth Invitational and has also committed to Georgia.

Chandler, a junior, had five top-10 finishes, including his first career win at the Davis Love III Junior Open. Chandler has committed to Georgia.

Eaton, a junior, won the AJGA’s Preseason Junior at Brookhaven and won the Southern Junior Championship. He has committed to Duke.

The Rolex team includes 12 on the first team, 12 on the second team and 24 on the honorable mention team.
