New Georgia Tech coach Ryan Hybl has wasted no time in signing his first group of golfers for the fall season. He added four players to the lineup.
Carson Baez: A native of Davenport, Fla., Baez was a two-time All-Atlantic 10 selection at Richmond, where he was first on the school’s career scoring list (71.20).
“For me, Georgia Tech has always been my dream school since I was little,” Baez said. “As soon as I saw Coach Hybl take the job, I knew exactly where I wanted to transfer. His prolific resume, combined with the rich history in Atlanta and the “Gold Standard” of Georgia Tech golf, told me everything I needed to know about his vision for the future of this incredible program and how I want to be a part of it.”
Max Emberson: A native of Thousand Oaks, Calif., was the No. 13-ranked player in the nation and No. 3 in California. He won the 2025 Southern California Junior Am and is ranked No. 31 by the AJGA. He was runner-up at the Jones Cup Junior Invitational.
“I’m incredibly excited and grateful to be continuing my academic and athletic career at Georgia Tech,” Emberson said. “After visiting campus, meeting with administration and experiencing Georgia Tech’s first-class facilities, I knew it was the best decision for me. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to learn, compete and grow under coach Ryan Hybl.”
Andrew Ferworn: The Houston native played three seasons at North Alabama, where he won three tournaments and was a three-time All-ASUN selection. He qualified for the NCAA championship as an individual and tied for 49th, closing with a 66.
“Andrew will have an immediate impact on our program,” said Hybl. “He is coming to us as a fourth-year and we expect him to be part of our leadership group. He has shown firepower at North Alabama and we are so excited to welcome him to The Flats.”
Henry Robards: The Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., native spent the last two seasons at Mercer, where he was runner-up at the 2026 SoCon Championship. He had six top-10 finishes and was named to the all-conference team after placing third in the league in stroke average (71.26).
“Coach Hybl is a winner and is invested in the success of the ‘family’ he calls his team,” Robards said. “It’s an unbelievable opportunity to play a top-five schedule in the country and earn a degree from the prestigious Georgia Tech.”
