Former UGA star Chris Kirk and two-time Georgia Amateur champion Jake Peacock were among the five players who advanced at Monday’s U.S. Open final qualifier at Hawks Ridge.
Kirk, a four-time winner on the PGA Tour who lives in Athens, shot 65-64 to win the qualifier at 15-under. Peacock, who turned pro after the 2025 Georgia Am, shot 66-65 to place second and his first trip to the U.S. Open.
The Open will be played next week at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club.
Former Bulldog Keith Mitchell of Chattanooga (-12) took third and Robbie Higgins of Sarasota and amateur Chase Keys of Birmingham tied for fourth at 11 under.
Amateur Jack Schoenberger and former Georgia State player Alex Herrmann tied at 10-under. Schoenberger will be first alternate and Herrmann will be second alternate.
UGA’s Davis Thompson was medalist at the final qualifier site in Westerville, Ohio.
Former Augusta State start Henrik Norlander finished as the No. 2 alternate at the Dallas site.
